Class Descriptions

Shala Yoga offers creative classes for your mind, body and spirit. We are always open to class suggestions. Below is our current schedule. 

7:00 am - 8:00 am Tuesdays and Thursdays

Early morning practice creates numerous positive effects by energizing, aligning, and opening up the body. An early class supports the endocrine system as well as the digestive system. It also helps to return us to our biological clocks while boosting metabolism and enlivening the body through intentional breath work and increased blood circulation. This class is suitable for all as it is gentle yet awakening.

Sunrise Morning Practice

Restorative Yin

Our restorative yin class offers a fusion between a classic restorative session and a yin practice where we use supportive props and longer held postures to bring the body, mind and spirit into deep relaxation and release tension in the body.

5:30 pm - 6:30 pm  MTWTH

Gentle Beginners Class is a gentle and slow moving class aimed to open energy flow and promote muscle relaxation in the body. We focus on basic yoga postures to create body awareness and an understanding of yoga.  New practicioners are safely guided into asana and through transitions while learning the grace of flow. Beginner yoga is vital to one's understanding before advancing deeper into the practice of yoga.

Gentle Beginners Class

7:00 pm - 8:00 pm MTWTH

Candelight Evening Practice is the perfect way to unwind after a long day and prepare the mind and body for sleep. This practice is suitable for all levels however at times may challenge your own limits. We incorporate many twists and folds to support the digestive system before bed and to also promote detoxing. Here is a well-balanced class designed to stretch out the body, release tension, tone the muscles and ride into the energy of the night. 

Candelight Evening Practice

9:00 am - 10:00 am MTWTF

An up level from our beginner yoga and all levels flow class. We take your existing practice to the next level by offering more advanced postures combined with a fluid flow as well as detailed instruction of alignment and form. We move strongly and gracefully like water while being deeper rooted into the anatomy and philosophy of yoga. Our students leave feeling more grounded and physically stronger. 

Intermediate Flow

9:00 am - 10:15 am Sat/Sun

Weekend Classes are designed to uplift our students and provide sequences that help balance out the body as a whole. We focus on going deeper into postures and generating a breath based flow. This class is about exploring our personal relationship with yoga, building strength, and having fun! It is advised to have an existing yoga practice before taking this class.

Weekend Practice

4:00 pm - 5:00 pm Mondays and Tuesdays

Our one hour meditation class involves focusing on breathing techniques, light movements and meditative guidance in our sacred and calming space in which to escape the external world and find deep relaxation. All levels welcome.
